Thanks to you this blog has been ranked the #1 philosophy blog, ahead of even the American Philosophical Association’s blog (#2).
I think people are really coming to see WTP, DH and TJB’s comments, so well done!
Philosophical Essays on Many Subjects
Very cool! Congrats, Mike!
BTW somewhere I was reading that philosophers in general find it very rude if one agrees with them.
True; politeness requires that one always disagree with a philosopher.
What a load of crap. Modern philosophy is a refuge for narcissism. They go out of their way to avoid having their thoughts and ideas challenged. They especially go out of their way to avoid any concrete consequences that may result from their ideas failing in the real world. Hence the solipsism. Philosophy has become nothing more than solipsism and sophistry. Hey, that’s got a bit of an alliterative ring to it. Perhaps it would be a better title for this place.
I never realised quite how exquisitely polite you are, WTP 🙂
Congratulations, Mike.

Hey, I try. But as someone once said, logic and reason can only function in a space where logic and reason are respected. Once those concepts are tossed aside by the unthinking pretenders, well decorum generally takes the first hit. Among polite society, that is.
Hm. So I got around to looking down the list a bit.
Quite how they established this ranking of “Top 100 Philosophy Blogs, Websites & Influencers in 2020” “ranked by relevancy, social engagement, domain authority, web traffic, freshness and social metrics” is a a puzzle worthy of some critical thinking.
The most obvious anomaly I’ve found so far is that #5, “Feminist Philosophers”, has a “Blog Closed” entry as its last post 7 months ago, in May 2019.
One assumes dice and Russian bots are heavily involved.
