A while ago I was running a WoW instance with my friends and we came across some toads. For some reason the phrase “TPK toad mocks your death” popped into my head.

For those out of the nerd loop, a TPK is a Total Party Kill. That is, everyone in the group dies. While some have predicted that the Republicans are heading for a political TPK, this does not seem to be the case. I’m sure that the TPK Toad would mock their deaths, too.
Getting back to the TPK toad, Blizzard has in game non-combat pets for characters. These pets don’t actually do anything in terms of the game mechanics. They are merely decorative. Some of these are bought in the game, others are found on dead monsters, and some are acquired by achievements. Naturally, I think that TPK Toad should be added to the game. It could be a pet that is awarded to any character who is involved in a high number of TPKs (or wipes as they are called in WoW…but Wipe Toad sounds like an English food). Preferably, these would have to be dungeon or raid TPKs (wipes) with full groups. Otherwise the pet would be too easy to get.
Unlike other pets, the TPK Toad could persist after the character’s death-to mock said death.
This is probably the Toad Mike has been hanging with:
Psychoactive toad is a name used for toads from which psychoactive substances from the family of bufotoxins can be derived. The skin and venom of Bufo alvarius (Colorado River toad or Sonoran Desert toad) contain 5-MeO-DMT and bufotenin. Other species contain only bufotenin. 5-MeO-DMT and bufotenin both belong to the family of hallucinogenic tryptamines. Due to these substances the skin or venom of the toads may produce psychoactive effects when ingested.
