Today I went in for my appointment at TOC. The verdict: I tore/ruptured my quadriceps tendon. On the plus side, the tendon has three layers. I still have two intact layers, so I have been able to stand. I’m hoping that this fact will help speed my recovery time.

Based on my research and conversation with the doc, I’ll be in a cast for up to 6 weeks, then it will be about three months to heal. I’m most likely looking at 6-9 months of physical therapy. Fortunately, I’m in excellent shape (well, aside from the injury) and am accustomed to disciplined workout programs.So, I am only anticipating moderate levels of madness arising from not running.
I will endeavor to keep blogging, although the hydrocodone might interfere somewhat with my lucidity (assuming that I am normally lucid, of course).
